Where it all began

A Simple Vision in Batangas

In 2018, husband-and-wife entrepreneurs Sherwin and Rose founded Kwatogs — a name inspired by Sherwin's childhood nickname, "Kwatog." Their goal was clear: to serve Batangas' well-loved lomi and tamis-anghang chami, while elevating the dining experience through improved ambiance and service — without compromising affordability.

Batangas, known as the home of lomi, is filled with hundreds of eateries offering their own versions of the dish. Food lovers from neighboring provinces often travel there to experience its rich and distinctive flavor. Recognizing this strong demand, the couple saw an opportunity not just to compete — but to expand.

The Kwatogs Journey

2018

Kwatogs is born in Lipa City

Sherwin and Rose open the first Kwatogs, serving Authentic Batangas Lomi and chami tamis-anghang with elevated ambiance at masa-friendly prices.

2022

MAFBEX — five days, zero deals

The couple takes a bold step and joins MAFBEX 2022 to introduce Kwatogs to a wider market. Thousands visit the booth, hundreds accept brochures, at least 20 interested individuals are spoken to — and zero deals are closed. "We went home feeling defeated. But little did we know, our email inbox was already filling up with inquiries."

2022–2024

Customers become partners

The exposure plants the seeds for growth. Inquiries turn into conversations, and conversations into partnerships. Kwatogs' earliest franchisees are its own loyal customers — people who believed in the brand long before it expanded. From one partnership and three company-owned stores, the brand steadily grows into a thriving franchise network.

2025

40 branches — and a strategic pause

Kwatogs reaches 40 branches, all franchised, with a growing presence in major commercial centers such as SM and Robinsons malls — from Lipa City across CALABARZON, into Metro Manila, and as far as Isabela Province. In mid-2025, the brand makes a strategic decision to temporarily pause franchising to focus on strengthening its commissary — ensuring product quality and operational standards remain consistent as the brand continues to grow.

2026

The next chapter

With the new commissary opening in the second quarter of 2026, Kwatogs is once again opening its doors to new franchise partners — offering a more robust and scalable system designed for long-term success.
